This beautiful and traditional antique residence is now a cultural and community center where visitors and local residents can come together to enjoy “ground golf” (a fun and easy lawn sport), traditional craft workshops (advanced reservations required), and Japanese soba noodles for lunch at the on-site soba restaurant.
Located in Mitsu Town, northern Okayama City, Kawahara-tei is surrounded by the idyllic scenery typically found in rural areas of Japan.
If you happened to be in Mitsu in November you may be around for the annual “Shishimai” (dragon) Festival.
