Okayama Showcases a Warm and Muslim-Friendly Experience at JakJapan Matsuri 2025

JakJapan Matsuri (JJM) 2025, held on 27–28 September 2025 at Plaza Parkir Timur, Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, once again became a vibrant platform for cultural exchange between Japan and Indonesia. Through the “Jelajah Jepang” area, visitors were able to discover various Japanese prefectures in an interactive and engaging way.

On this occasion, the Okayama Muslim Tourism booth took part in the festival, introducing Okayama as a destination that emphasizes inclusivity and accessibility for all travelers, including Muslim visitors.

The Okayama booth featured a bright and lively atmosphere, reflecting the prefecture’s image as a unique and comfortable travel destination. Booth staff warmly welcomed visitors with friendly communication and genuine smiles, creating a welcoming environment from the moment visitors approached the booth.

Throughout the two-day event, the Okayama booth attracted visitors from diverse backgrounds, including families, children, and young people who were eager to learn more about Japan and its regional destinations.

Spin Wheel: A Favorite Interactive Activity

In addition to providing information about Okayama, the OMT booth at JJM 2025 featured a popular Spin Wheel activity. Visitors were invited to spin the wheel and excitedly await the results for a chance to receive various attractive souvenirs.

This activity served as an effective interaction tool, creating a lively and friendly atmosphere while strengthening engagement between visitors and booth staff. The Spin Wheel successfully added an element of fun to the experience, making the booth approachable for visitors of all ages.

 

Visitor Enthusiasm Throughout the Event

Documentation from JakJapan Matsuri 2025 clearly shows that the Okayama booth remained busy throughout the event. Many visitors captured memorable moments while participating in the Spin Wheel activity or taking photos with booth staff against the visual backdrop of Okayama.

Beyond the Okayama Muslim Tourism booth, the festival featured numerous booths representing other Japanese cities, along with a wide variety of culinary options, cultural exhibitions, and information about studying and working in Japan. These elements combined to make JakJapan Matsuri a lively celebration of the friendship between Japan and Indonesia. The excitement over the two-day event demonstrated how simple yet well-designed experiences can leave a lasting impression on visitors.

Introducing Okayama to Muslim Travelers

Okayama’s participation in JakJapan Matsuri 2025 was part of its ongoing effort to promote the prefecture as a Muslim-friendly travel destination in Japan. Through a welcoming and inclusive approach at events like JJM, visitors were able to experience Japan, especially Okayama, which is an open and comfortable destination for Muslim travelers from Indonesia. 

Through the Okayama booth at JJM 2025 Festival, visitors received information about the various Muslim-friendly facilities available in Okayama, including halal and Muslim-friendly food options, prayer spaces, and easy-to-access travel information.

With its consistently lively atmosphere and engaging interactive activities, the Okayama booth became one of the highlights of the “Jelajah Jepang” area at JakJapan Matsuri 2025. This experience further strengthened Okayama’s image as a destination that is not only rich in culture, but also welcoming and inclusive for Muslim travelers.
