Korakuen is one of the best three traditional Japanese gardens in Japan, and has been awarded three stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan tourism guidebook. It is a must-see location in Okayama City, and is beautiful in any season. A stroll through this stunning garden will enliven your senses and leave your soul refreshed.
If you visit during the spring you can see the cherry blossoms and wisteria in bloom. During the fall, the changing colors of the leaves set the scene. A summer visit will afford you the chance to dip your feet into the foot spring much in the way the lord of Okayama Castle once did.
Located in “The Culture Zone” in central Okayama City, Korakuen is easily accessible by bus, taxi, or a ride on the streetcar and a short walk.
